Biography
Liane Vogel graduated with a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the Technical Uni-versity of Darmstadt in 2021. She is currently working as a PhD student at the Data and AI Systems Lab at TU Darmstadt supervised by Prof. Carsten Binnig.
Thematic Advice
Working with large amounts of data is often still very time-consuming and labor-intensive, especially tasks like data cleaning or data de-duplication are tedious. Liane is working on developing new solutions for automating data-engineering tasks on relational data in order to reduce manual effort.
Professional Competence
Liane works in the intersection of natural language processing and data management. Her focus lies on automating data-engineering tasks using representation learning techniques. This includes pre-training foundation models and deriving models for downstream tasks in data-efficient ways, for example for tasks like missing value imputation, column type predic-tion or entity resoution.
