Enabling Scientific Visualization for HPC

In NHR4CES, communicating science is a key part of our mission. Our researchers are not only valuable contacts within their communities but also sought-after speakers at conferences.

Tim Gerrits, leader of our CSG Visualizaiton, will be a keynote speaker at the ParaView User Day Europe 2024. This event offers users and developers the opportunity to learn about the latest features and capabilities of ParaView. It is also a great chance to connect to experts of the visualization community – such as Tim Gerrits!

In recent years, Tim has focused on in situ visualization on high performance computers, which required him and his team to develop new techniques to meet the high demands.

ParaView, the standard software in the visualization community, played a crucial role in this process. At the ParaView User Day, Tim will share his experiences and insights, showcasing his journey with ParaView.

The ParaView User Day – Thursday, September 26 2024 in Lyon (France) will feature presentations from ParaView developers and users, hands-on tutorials and demos, as well as Q&A sessions with Kitware Europe’s team.

Further information about the ParaView User Day Europe can be found on the website

About Tim Gerrits:

Tim is the group leader of our CSG Visualization. He received his PhD in Visualization, working on the visualization of second-order tensor data and vector field ensembles.

Since 2021, Tim leads the CSG Visualization at NHR4CES as well as the Visualization Group at RWTH Aachen University, Germany.

Whenever data is created or measured, there exists a variety of possible ways to view and explore such data. This is highly dependent on the domain and can range from critical applications such as medical procedures or mechanical engineering to purely theoretical concepts. Tim can offer experience on which visualization techniques might fit the current needs.
