We value user satisfaction and aim to provide quick and reliable access to computing time. By continually gathering feedback through surveys and discussions with users, we now adapted our process to allocate computing time. This allows researchers to start their projects way faster!
What’s new
- No more long waits to start your NHR normal project (up to 12.0 Mio Core-h per year; GPUs in Aachen: max. 83000 GPU-h and GPUs in Darmstadt: max. 42000 GPU-h)
- If needed, we now allocate 50% of the quota (up to a maximum of 6 Mio Core-h) for normal projects – even without completing the review process.
- Once all required reviews are available, the quota can be increased.
Previous Process
Previously, NHR normal projects got an initial quota (0.36 Mio Core-h) after a technical review, but users had to wait for the scientific review to get access to the main resources. The initial quota was then increased once the proposal had received two positive scientific reviews. The final decision on resource allocation was made by the RAB during quarterly NHR4CES meetings.
We are now trying to prevent delays in access, so you can start using our high performance resources immediately – without long waiting periods!
