NHR4CES is excited to host the NHR Conference this year, which will take place in Darmstadt from September 9-12, 2024.
The NHR Conference is an annual event of the Alliance for National High Performance Computing (NHR Alliance). As NHR4CES, the centers at TU Darmstadt and RWTH Aachen University are two of the nine members of the NHR Alliance.
The annual NHR Conference aims at promoting scientific exchange among the HPC user community. The 2024 conference will focus on the areas of computational engineering, materials science, and simulation & AI. Users presentations of their work on NHR clusters will be complemented by exciting keynotes and podium discussions. Unique to this format, users can get in touch with operating staff and NHR consulting teams, to exchange ideas about HPC working environment and supporting tools.
The conference will be held in two parts. The open conference on the first two days (September 9-10) will highlight the scientific contributions of the community, whereas the internal days (September 11-12) will bring together the staff of all centers to discuss progress within NHR.
The first NHR Conference took place in September 2023 in Berlin, and was hosted by the NHR center at Zuse Institute Berlin (ZIB). Around 200 people took part in the event. The 2023 topics were atomistic simulation, life science and agent-based simulation.
